Firelight Tipi Events was born out of a desire to share in life's many celebrations and invite mother nature along as the guest of honour. Our philosophy is to offer as much flexibility and creativity as possible and we take such pleasure in observing the unique styles and personal touches each different event brings. We strive not to be a traditional venue with rigid pricing structures and restrictions. Your day should be exactly that and we will do all we can to help bring your vision to life...we can't wait to hear about it!

Our Giant Hat Tipis take inspiration from the traditional dwellings used by the Sami People to create truly stunning events spaces. Combining sustainable materials and exceptional UK craftsmanship our Tipis will guarantee the wow factory your event deserves. The structures can all be linked in many combinations and furnished to your taste to create a celebration that is unique as you are!

ALEX

I'm Simon and I've spent the last 15 years working in the construction industry as a Project Manager, delivering multi-million pound schemes for exacting clients.

Having been lucky enough to take a career break to travel before moving to Devon, I was luckier still to have recently had a baby boy with my wife Jessica. I then had a insatiable need to change my career for something I'm passionate about. Firelight is exactly that project and all my skills from Project Management will make sure your expectations are exceeded at every step of your Tipi Wedding journey with us.

I'm Alex, and in 2019, after spending over 10 years living in London and working in accountancy, I moved to Devon to set up a Zero Waste Shop with my fiancé Rachel. It has been a breath of fresh air being able to move to such a beautiful place and become part of a tight-knit community. We too are getting married in 2022...finally, so can directly appreciate the highs and lows of planning a wedding in a pandemic.

Firelight Tipi is the next exciting chapter of our life in Devon and we cannot wait to be able to work with you to deliver your dream event.

I honestly don't know where to begin!!!! We had our wedding in August this year. We booked Firelight Tipi's with very little knowledge of them, but they were superb! From start to finish!

A few months before our big day, we were invited to an open day so we could see the Tipis in the flesh. We had the triple tipi set up, with 100 day guests and 250 in the evening. There was more than enough space for a bar, dance floor, sweet table, cake table, seating etc. We chose to have the furnished option (just keep in mind there are a few add-ons, such a glitter ball etc which I hadn't realised were meant to be at an extra cost), but it was truly magical! I know they are a bit of a luxury choice, but if you're thinking of it, just do it! You won't regret it!!

The team turned up early in the morning on the first day. They were professional and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We had a whole day to decorate them prior to the wedding. And I cannot describe just how magical they were. A month on and I'm still getting compliments about them!

Firelight Tipis were brilliant to work with from start to finish. We had a party for 140 people and used 3 tipis joined together. Simon and Alex are very knowledgable and practical and gave us great advice on the layout and setup of the 3 tipis for our wedding on the windy Devon coastline. Firelight handled the setup while we were off site and the tipis were ready early which gave us more time to work on decorations. They gave great suggestions in terms of decorations, table layout and went the extra mile for us with the internal and external lighting, disco ball and bar. The tipis themselves are very sturdy and looked great inside and out - it is much brighter inside than you expect which gives a warm feel inside during the day and cosy fun atmosphere at night. The tables and chairs are high quality, sturdy and very spacious. All our guests were very comfortable and there is plenty of room on the tables for drinks, flower arrangements, decorations etc. The flooring was initially a concern as we had elderly guests attending and the field itself had some rabbit holes, but the flooring provided was safe and covered up any holes in the field underneath. Finally, the day after our wedding, the Firelight team arrived perfectly on time to disassemble the tipi and even helped us with some of the clearing away of debris from the night before. Again the tear down process was really simple and Simon and Alex took care of everything for us. Really nice guys, couldn’t recommend their service highly enough, it was great dealing with them throughout.

Without a doubt, Firelight Tipi's made our wedding day the best day ever. Simon and Alex were amazing right from the very first communication we had with them. After making a tentative enquiry we had the warmest email back sharing our excitement and making us feel incredibly special.
With every email, conversation and meeting Simon and Alex were enthusiastic and nothing was too much trouble.
On the Wednesday before the wedding the they arrived with a fantastic team...all really keen, polite and ready for action...and before we knew it our tipi's were up and looked amazing! Absolutely just what we were looking for.
All our guests loved the tipi's..especially all the fairy lights which gave them a magical feel.

At Firelight Tipi Events we are committed to putting sustainability at the heart of everything that we do in pursuit of having a positive impact on the world around us.

In the near future it is our aim to be able to offer a complete Carbon Neutral Events package. Until we reach that point in our journey, here's what we are up to...

Sutainability

ENVIRONMENTALLY

ELECTRIC VEHICLES - We commit to undertaking our site visits in electric vehicles where access permits. Unfortunately the Electric Pick-up market hasn't quite caught up but it's coming soon and we'll be ready and waiting when it does. Until then we are reviewing options of Diesel alternative fuels and making sure we are as efficient as possible with our journeys.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS - Our Tipis are manufactured here in the UK using sustainably sourced materials.
ZERO PAPER - All of our correspondence and documentation will be provided to you electronically to save it being lost and avoiding unnecessary printing.
ETHICAL CLOTHING -All of our workwear is made using ethically sourced, sustainable materials and natural dyes.
CARBON OFFSETTING - We are reviewing a number of organisations to partner with to offset our carbon production.

ECONOMICALLY

TRANSPARENT PRICING - We recognise that the cost of putting on your dream event can quickly grow legs and run away with you. We've been there too, don't worry. It is our goal to not only offer you great value for money on a venue that all your guest will remember but to offer you a price that is transparent from day one so that you don't end up with a list of essentials that are priced up as extras.
FAIR PAY - As a minimum, we are are committed to paying our team above the National Living Wage, regardless of age. It's critical to us that our team feels how valued they are.

SOCIALLY

GIVING BACK - Each year we will set aside one event in our diary to provide one of our gorgeous set ups to a local charity completely free of charge. Do you have a charity close to your heart that would benefit from our wonderful Tipis? Tell us why HERE. The team will review all submissions and pick one worthy entry to partner with on an event.
